When the chips were down, it was the seniors that took over. It was a time out early in the second half when Dan Cage was seen LOUDLY exhorting his teammates, demanding a change in course. And he got what he demanded.
Fellow senior Dereck Byars was dominant, and Ted Skuchas enforced his will against the vaunted front line of WSU. The announcers had already stated VU would need to try to stay close on the boards. Well, Vandy did better than that. They led the game in rebounding (34 to 28). They also continued playing tremendous defense.
Now the Dores are one of 16 teams left competing for the National Championship. They head to NJ to take on the Hoyas, the team that beat Vandy to start the season. Will this game be any different? My bet is this group of seniors will be key to answering that question...
1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: "No eye has seen,no ear has heard,no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
