Nashville, TN Mayor Bill Purcell, vetoed the, largely symbolic, "English Only" law recently voted in by the City Council. While I think that we should make it VERY EASY for LEGAL aliens to do business here, I understand that this legislation is basically a "political statement" regarding the run away world of illegal immigration.
Our National lexicon has even changed to call illegals "undocumented migrants". They are not undocumented, they are criminals. Political correctness (along with voter manipulation and the need for low price labor) have been the driving force in the way we look at these law breakers.
I understand and have compassion for those that want to come here. I know that life can be better in the U.S., but there are ways for these folks to come here legally. I think Purcell was misguided in this Veto. What do you think?
