Boy, I'm so glad we are pouring federal funds into repairing New Orleans. It is such a great place. Have you ever walked down Bourbon Street? Is anyone else bothered that it's called Bourbon Street?
New Orleans is one of many cities that embody the failed social agenda of liberal ideologues; or in more simple terms when you create an entitlement mentality, you get failed, crime riddled communities.

New Orleans is now the murder capital of the Nation. It beat out such notables as Memphis, TN, lovely Trenton, NJ, Los Angeles, etc. Each of these cities have "strong", social programs focused on handouts. By providing housing and paying people in poverty, you provide excuses for healthy, employable people to sit around and do nothing but cause trouble. When will we learn that the government should not be in the business of housing and food stamps for the employable? This environment encourages drugs, violent crime, unwanted pregnancy, laziness, etc. It forces valuable assets of our national infrastructure to be wasted.
Am I the only one that gets this?
