For over 200 years the people of Washington D.C. have been denied the right of representation in the National arena. If you travel to D.C., one of the first things you'll notice is that the license plates on local automobiles say "taxation without representation".
Now there is legislation in Congress to correct this wrong. The plan would allow the predominantly Democratic district would get a Representative in the House. The trade-off would be that Utah, predominantly Republican State, would get an additional Representative along which in turn would give the State an additional vote in the electoral college.
Enter Henry Waxman, the California Democrat that chairs an important subcommittee saddled with getting this legislation to the floor of the house. Waxman is against putting this up for a vote due to the extra electoral vote in Utah. He is afraid that this vote could sway the election in 2008.
This shows me how little folks like Waxman really care about voter rights and what is truly best for the Country. It's time Waxman and the like quit playing politics with the rights of the people. Let your candidate stand on his beliefs and let the voters decide. Don't rely on math to try to win the White House.
Contact Waxman and paraphrase Moses: Let the people go....

1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: "No eye has seen,no ear has heard,no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
