We are getting closer to an announcement from Fred Thompson (ARTICLE). Thompson seems to be the big personality and mature leader the Republican party needs right now. I believe George Bush has been the right man at the right time, but I believe it is now time for a polished, no nonsense direction. Someone that can rise above the nastiness of Washington.
Let's face it, he's Reganesque. Reagan was, the greatest President in generations. In this post 9/11 world we live in, we need a strong leader that our Country can rally around. In this way he truly is separated from the rest of the field.
He is big enough to deal with liberals and true enough to the principles of the party to have the conservative base support him in the direction he leads.
If you are not on the bandwagon, it's time to get there.
