Recently, on radio call in shows, some listeners have called for the public not to judge Pacman Jones on his antics in Vegas until are the facts are known. In today's Tennessean, his attorney has stressed concern over a "mob mentality" surrounding the case. Judge him on the facts. OK, well here are the facts:
Jones has had 10 "official" run-ins with the law sense he joined the Titans two years ago. That's more than the rest of the current 55 man roster has had combined.
Jones regularly is having problems in strip clubs and in night clubs.
Three of the run-ins have had drug involvement.
Five have involved violent acts with two involving guns.
It does not matter whether Jones is convicted of any of these. The fact is that is behavior off the field is detrimental to the Titan's organization. If I had these problems, my employer would have no trouble firing me. This brings me to the fact that Jones is also an on the field distraction. He leads the team in unsportsman like penalties during his tenure.
Jones is physically, very talented. The fans that want him gone will have to understand that the defense will be giving up a lot on the corner with him gone. They will also not see those thrilling punt returns. But, as a Titans fan, it's worth it to me to have a team that I am proud to take my kids to see and not be embarrassed about the actions of one player.
1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: "No eye has seen,no ear has heard,no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
