Why We Despise Politicians

Let's see, gas prices are at all time highs, we are at war, our economy is in the crapper, so what is a politician to do? I know, let's demand an investigation into a pro football team videotaping other teams' defensive signals. That's exactly what Arlen Specter has done. Why in the world are our elected officials spending any time on this?

Specter's rationale for investigation is this: "They are enormous role models for everybody," Specter said. "If you can cheat in the NFL, you can cheat in college, you can cheat in high school, you can cheat on your grade-school math test. There's no limit as to what you can do. I think they owe the public a lot more candor and a lot more credibility."

I sure am glad we have folks like Specter protecting our constitution and rights. Oh wait, he's not. He's busy with his acting role as football cop...
