You probably haven't seen the most recent comments Bill Maher has made regarding Dick Cheney. The reason why you haven't seen it is because Maher was kicked off network television for spewing his evil, irresponsible rhetoric. He now resides on HBO, but he is still spitting out the venom. I just read the excerpts on the blog you quoted, but it seems Bill Maher is defending some people's right to say that they wish Dick Cheney was dead. These statements are certainly not well-put but they are protected by freedom of speech. Also, I just watched An Inconvenient Truth and I thought it had a lot of good facts in it. I didn't think it was cynical. In fact at the end of the movie there are a lot of suggestions for improving the environment. That seems positive to me.
BigB, after looking at your blog, it is clear to me you and I have different values all together, so it would be difficult for you and I to find any common ground here.
